Volunteer Work Hours
Policy
Work hours are entirely voluntary. Members have the opportunity to reduce upcoming membership dues by $10 for every hour they volunteer, to a maximum of $100.
Hours are tracked in membership records (up to the maximum redeemable 10 hours) and should be visible to members at all times. The hours will be reset to zero after membership renewal.
Recording Hours
- Members should watch monthly newsletters and emails for volunteer opportunities.
- Work hours are recorded either by the member signing in and out if there is a sheet, or noted by the work leader.
- The sign in sheet or work leaders notes are forwarded to the membership coordinator, who enters the hours into the membership program.
Redeeming Hours: Auto-Pay (monthly or annually)
- Near the end of every month the membership coordinator will review annual renewals due in the coming month and monthly auto-pays join date anniveraries.
- If any of these have volunteer hours on record the membership coordinator will create a credit in the membership record for the dollar amount correponding to the hours worked.
- The volunteer hours in the member’s record will then be reset to zero to start over for future volunteering.
- When the auto-renewal occurs, it will deduct the amount of the credit before charging the member’s card for any balance.
